A collection of experiences on learning and teaching with digital media
Distance Learning
History of DAD
Already in the nineteenth century there are examples of postal teaching, that is the ancestor of distance teaching.
Some experiences of correspondence schools are also present in Italy after the war.
An important example of distance learning is in the sixties the television broadcast: "It is never too late" which I teach to read from television to thousands of Italians who were still completely illiterate at the time.
Manzi; the owner of the program understood that it was not enough to repeat the educational experience of the class, but that the model for the media used had to be redesigned.
I teach reading and writing to one and a half million illiterate Italians
Another historical example of distance learning is certainly those of the BBC which since the end of the fifties, first with TV and then with the use of the Internet, has always offered material for multimedia teaching.

Last year our school used an online application for remote teaching of primary and nursery school, this platform was developed by a group of Italian students and is an alternative to Google Classroom:

The tone of his voice
.Upload Facial Expressions

Facilitate subsequent interaction between participants, perhaps by assigning group work or activating chat between participants
The pandemic situation and the following distance learning
The pandemic situation and the following distance learning have served first of all to highlight the erroneousness of a series of classic clichés on digital learning, such as:
. The school is not responsible for digital education but must primarily warn of the dangers of technology.
Computers replace teachers, pupils can do everything by themselves
because digital media are replacing analog media, and greatly facilitate learning without the need for teacher intervention.
But the real change will come with "the next generation" and so as a teacher I don't have to deal with it but just demonize it ...
